    About Catholic Marriage

    AboutCatholicMarriage

The United States Catholic Conference of Bishops (USCCB) has a wonderful web site which explores a number of aspects of Christian marriage as a sacrament, a covenant and a special vocation in life. Here are some quick links to the content on their web site

    Interdenominational and Interfaith Marriages

40% of all weddings celebrated in a Catholic Church are wither interdenominational (between a Catholic Christian and another baptized Christian) or interfaith (between a Catholic Christian and a person not baptized a Christian.). Check out the USCCB website for information on how this affects marriage preparation, the ceremony, and married life. Links to helpful resources are also included on the site.

    Catholic Wedding Ceremonies
Want to know more about Catholic Wedding Ceremonies? The bishops web site walks you through the three different forms of celebrating the Rite of Marriage – including which form is appropriate for your circumstances and the outline of the form. There is also a guide to all the Readings used in the wedding celebration – including the full text of the Old Testament readings, New Testament readings and the Gospel readings and short commentaries on each reading. You can also gain some insight into general Ceremony Options and Music associated with your wedding celebration.
