Emergency or Temporary Housing for the Homeless
Hillsborough County January 2009 ACTS: This is a forty-eight (48) bed, residential program that provides rehabilitation to homeless individuals (men and women) chronically debilitated from alcohol/drug addiction and mental illness who are incapable of living independently. Other adult programs can be seen at the Acts Program Services page. Alpha House: Alpha House of Tampa was founded in 1981 to serve pregnant women in crisis and their families. The residential services consist of a Maternity Residence (23 rooms) and Transitional Housing (24 rooms). Amen Outreach Ministries: Women, Children Catholic Charities: HIV/AIDS, Men Covenant House of Tampa, Inc.: Men, Women, and Families Christlike Ministries: Men, Women, Ex-offenders and substance abusers Liberty Manor: Vets, Men (12 beds) Lighthouse Gospel Mission: Men, Women Mary & Martha House: Women, children-abuse and/or Homeless Metropolitan Ministries: Women, families New Beginnings of Tampa, Inc: Women, Men River of Grace Ministries: Men Safe Place: Mental Health Care Inc.’s Safe Place is a 25-bed facility in Tampa Heights that helps homeless people with mental disabilities find shelter and receive treatment. Salvation Army Transitional Housing - Hospitality House: Women, Families (up to 2 years of transitional housing) – 44 beds. Hope House: Men (up to 2 years of transitional housing) – 43 beds.
