The Sacramental Preparation Program at Sacred Heart Church is in addition to the Religious Education Program, and provides specific education of the sacrament that your child will be receiving for both parent and child. It is a year long process and includes independent study, classroom, and small group instructions.

The receiving of the sacraments in the Catholic Church is a very important process in the development of our Catholic Community. Regular attendance in Religious Education classes as well as Sunday worship is expected.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is a sacrament of initiation, much like Baptism. By being confirmed, your child agrees to accept the responsibility for continuing their own religious development. Once confirmed, your child is viewed as an adult member of the Catholic Church. For this reason, much of the preparation for Confirmation will be the responsibility of your child. The church will be looking for clear signs that your child is mature enough, both emotionally and spiritually, and eager to become an adult member of our Catholic community. ***Sacramental Preparation begins in September. No registrations will be accepted after September 22nd 2010, as a FULL year is needed to prepare the children completely and in the manner in which the Catholic Church requires***

If you have an emergency situation, please contact Father Sean O’Brien directly. Exceptions are made to the attendance policy in extreme situations, ONLY & by Father Sean. If you have any further questions, please contact Father Sean O’Brien @ Sacred Heart Catholic Church 813-229-1595 or via email: sobrien@sacredheartfla.org
