Sacred Heart typically has spring and fall celebrations of the Sacrament of Confirmation for Adults. These programs are for adults who are active in their faith, are baptized and have received First Eucharist, but for various reasons were not able to celebrate the third of the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation). The Autumn 2011 class will begin in early September 2011. See the "Schedule" section below for more information.
Want to learn more? Contact the parish via email, Mona Baker or the parish office at 229-1595 for more details.
- You will need a copy of your baptismal certificate. If you do not have access to your original or a copy of the original, all you need to do is to contact your church of baptism and ask them to prepare a new certificate for you. All most churches need is your name and the year of baptism in order to look up the records. It is something churches do on a frequent basis. If you were baptized at a military base chapel or overseas in another country, let us know and we can give you guidance.
- Download an Confirmation Information Sheet here. Please complete the form and bring it to your first class.

What are the requirements to be a Sponsor? In order to be a Confirmation Sponsor, a person must be
- at least 16 years of age;
- a practicing Catholic who is baptized and confirmed and has received First Holy Communion;
- someone other than the parents of the person to be confirmed; and
- leading a life in harmony with the Catholic faith and the role they are about to assume.
We ask for a letter from their parish stating that they are members of that parish and eligible to be a Sponsor. How can potential Sponsors obtain a letter indicating that they are eligible to be godparents? Parishes routinely provide these letters, so the simplest way is to ask your local parish. How many Sponsors can (must) I have? It is only required that there be one Sponsor and that is the custom.
