    The Sacred Heart Council of Catholic Women's Guild (Ladies Guild) is under the National Council of Catholic Women or NCCW.

    What is NCCW?

    NCCW is the nationwide Council of Catholic women and their organizations operating as a federation. It was founded by 200 concerned women in 1920 at the call of the Bishops of the United States.

    NCCW is affliliated local, parish, diocesan, state and national organizations with vast individual memberships. It is Archdiocesan and Diocesan Council of Catholic Women spanning the United States.

    NCCW is the representative voice of millions of women; it is concerned women working together through national program commisions which reflect current issues in the Church and society.

    NCCW is...

    • affliated with the National Conference of Catholic Bishops and United States Catholic Conference;

    • an affiliate of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations which unites Catholic organizations of women globally
    • a member of the Non-Govermental Organizations (NGO) of the United Nations, an advisory body of the United Nations;
    • a founding member of Women in Community Service uniting NCCW with National Council of Negro Women, National Council of Jewish Women, Church Women United, and The G.I. Forum Auxiliary in local communities to help disadvantaged youth gain a new start in life.

    • Unites Catholic organizations and individual Catholic women of the United States
    • Develop their leadership potential.
    • Assists them in acting upon current issues in the Church and society.
    • Provides a medium through which Catholic women may speak and act upon matters of common interest.
    • Relates to other national and international organizations in the solution of present day problems.
