Who are the Friends of Sacred Heart?
A group of dedicated benefactors formed FRIENDS OF SACRED HEART in the spring of
1993 to bring together those who share a commitment to the continued restoration and
maintenance of our beloved historic church, its rectory and the Marie Hermann Robbins
Parish Center.
FRIENDS OF SACRED HEART raises funds for its goals in five ways:
- Enrollments
- Memorials to the Deceased
- Tributes to the Living
- Special Gifts
- Bequests
All funds generated are maintained in a restricted account, and are used for our
stated purposes.
Friends' Activities
There are no monthly meetings to attend. Presently, there are two annual functions:
- A social is held in June each year on the Feast of the Sacred Heart to provide a forum
for meeting and mingling with others who have similar interests and concerns, to renew old
acquaintances, and to reminisce. The Social is complimentary to Members and open to Guest
by donation only.
- The 11:00 AM Mass on the first Sunday of November is a Commemorative Mass for FRIENDS OF
SACRED HEART.
Your enrollment and participation will help preserve our beautiful, historic church for future
generations.
Sacred Heart Docents
We are proud of our sacred heritage and are eager to "collect, protect and share" Sacred Heart
Church's rich history and Jesuit traditions.
Our Docents welcome your donations of memorabilia of a historic or nostalgic nature.
A library of oral histories is presently being recorded on audio and video tapes. If you
would like to participate in this project or know someone who would (or should), please contact
the Parish Office.
Tours of the church are available. Please contact the Parish Office between 9:00 a.m. and
4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday for a current schedule or to make arrangements.

Living Tribute. An appropriate card acknowledging your gift will be sent to whomever you
designate.
Memorials and Tributes are listed in the Summer and Winter editions of the parish
newsletter, Sacred Heart Beat.
A Commemorative Mass is celebrated the first Sunday of November for those remembered
by Memorials and Tributes, their families and friends.
Suggested minimum donation for Memorials and Tributes is $25, however, any amount you
choose to give will be gratefully accepted, and remains confidential.
