It is a life of prayer and service to the church and the world, modeled on the life of St. Francis of Assisi. We take vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. We serve as priests or brothers in a diversity of ministries.

    • Franciscan Mission Service (FMS)
      FMS provides opportunities for Catholic Lay men and women to serve overseas in Francsican community settings while in service to the economically poor and oppressed peoples of the developing world. FMS provides formation and support for its missioners as they serve and learn from people of another place and culture. Would you like to hear from the current lay missioners serving abroad?     • Franciscan Volunteer Ministry
      The Franciscan Volunteer Ministry is a group of lay men and women, living in community, who dedicate themselves to ministry in the Church in collaboration with the Franciscans of Holy Name Province. Based on the Gospel message to express love in action, it provides an environment that fosters service to the marginalized, personal and interpersonal development, spiritual growth, and an active prayer life. As a living witness to Gospel values and Franciscan ideals, the volunteer is committed to a simple lifestyle that promotes solidarity with the poor and builds a Christian Community with one another. This experience, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, will nurture the volunteer to grow in Christ to become a leader in the Church.

    • St Michael the Archangel - Secular Franicscan Fraternity
      The Secular Franciscan Order, (formerly known as the Third Order of St. Francis), was founded by St. Francis of Assisi in the thirteen century. Originally we were known as the Brothers and Sisters of Penance. This is a recognized Order within the Church, with a Rule revised most recently by Pope Paul VI. We have a formation process, a formal profession, and a monthly gathering. Please come join us at our regular SFO gathering held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 7:00 PM here at St. Patrick Parish in Room 21.
