PHILOSOPHY
Sacred Heart Academy was established in 1931. It is the parish school of Sacred Heart
Church, a Jesuit parish since 1888.
We seek to extend the Church’s mission to teach all people the Good News of Jesus Christ’s
message. The purpose of our school is achieved by a caring, concerned faculty who strive
to create and sustain a loving and nurturing experience for children, which maximizes their
spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development.
We strive to cultivate in our students a keen awareness of social issues and a deep sense of
responsibility to grow as a model Christian community through worship and service. Our religious
program focuses on the total development of the student as a member of the Christian community.
Values, attitudes, and doctrine are an integral part of our curriculum. We believe that these
values be reinforced in the family through regular participation in a faith community.
We recognize that all people have received from God unique talents and personalities and are
meant to share in God’s creative gifts. Since children come to learn about the world in a
variety of ways and at different rates, we recognize and respect the individual differences
among children and seek to provide ways to accommodate the differences by providing a variety
of learning experiences.
