February 2008 Newsletter
February comes with lots of love and activities.
Themes for February: Black History month is in February, and the children will learn about the many African Americans who have contributed to the making of this country.
Valentine’s Day is the second unit this month and is about loving and caring for each other. On Thursday, February 14th, the children will have a Valentine card exchange and a party. We are planning a cookie decorating party with the buddies. I will send more information later in the month.
The children will also learn about the different types of transportation. We will study transportation by air, land and water.
There will also be cooking activities during the month of February.
Concept Board will include: Math: The numbers 13, 14. The Shape is heart. Colors: Red and Pink.
Language: The letters for this month are: O,P,Q. Opposites: Up/Down. Nursery Thyme: The Queen of Hearts.

February 6 Ash Wednesday
February 14 Valentine cards exchange and party
February 15 Teacher’s Work day (No school for children)
February 18 President’s day (No school)
