July 14, 2008
Dear Parents, Students, and Staff,
I hope everyone is having an enjoyable summer. I would like to thank you for your support in the previous years and welcome new students and families who will be joining the Sacred Heart Family. I have enjoyed cooking for you all and look forward to serving you for another fantastic school year. As I continue to improve the quality of the meals and service, I encourage you to contact me with any ideas or suggestions. My cell number is (813) 714-9559, or call my SHA office at (813) 229-0618 ext. 229.
Check out the School Lunch Menus and Cafertiria Event Info on the website for special events including our monthly “Eat with Your Child Day” to “Talent Show 2009” (SHA @ HOLLYWOOD). Please review and mark your calendars early. Please visit the school website often for monthly menus, special event details, lunch ticket breakdown, the monthly newsletter, and other important information from the SHA Café.
Eventually, the cafeteria will have Internet access that will allow you to purchase lunch tickets online. Until then you may send your payments into the office like in the past. Please make the checks payable to Luigi’s Catering.
With the rise in cost of food goods, I have to increase the lunch price from $ 3.50 to $ 4.00. This is the first price increase since Luigi’s Catering started serving lunches at SHA in 2001. I apologize for any inconvenience; however, I will have an A LA CARTE menu with snacks instead of the full menu which includes the daily entree, a beverage, salad, and dessert. If you wish to purchase from the snack bar this service is cash only.
Due to several outstanding balances from last year, I will not serve on ‘credit’ anymore. The lunches need to be purchased in advance, or paid in cash or check during that day’s lunch period. If you have an outstanding balance from last year, please contact me to arrange payments and discuss the purchase of lunches for the upcoming school year. I am a parent too, so I understand that sometimes students forget their lunch or money. I will gladly serve them lunch to be paid the next day with no exception. Finally, there is a fee of $ 25.00 for a returned check.
Besides the daily entrée, the following menu choices will be available everyday:
· Breaded crispy chicken sandwich with chips
· Peanut butter and jelly sandwich with chips
· Two hot dogs with chips.
· Chicken Caesar salad.
These special items are to be ordered by 8:30 AM with the lunch count I receive from your teacher. If you arrive late and you want to order hot lunch from the cafeteria, regular daily lunch will be served.
Every teacher will have the lunch order forms for your convenience. I will only accept those forms with the lunch count. Every other piece of paper will be discarded, and the students will receive only the regular daily lunch. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me anytime.
“Eat Lunch with Your Child Day” will continue to be a Sacred Heart tradition. If you plan on attending and eating a meal from the cafeteria let the teacher know in advance so you will be added to the daily count. Those days are already planned and on the calendar for your convenience. The computerized ticket system has worked really well this year. I will send you a reminder if your account balance is $ 10.00 or less. If you ever need a printed form of transactions, please let me know and I will send it the next day.
The lunch schedule is as follows:
11:00 am- Grades 3, 4, and 5
11:30 am- EC-3, EC -4, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
12:00 pm- Grades 6, 7, and 8
Luigi’s Catering will prepare the menu for several special events and, as usual, we will need volunteers. Your time and assistance can be counted towards your parent hours. Your help in any capacity will be greatly appreciated and will help keep the costs down.
I will be in the kitchen Mondays through Fridays from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. Anyone interested in learning more about Luigi’s Catering, please feel free to check out my website at luigiscatering.com.
Thanks again and looking forward to a great school year!
Regards,
Luigi Cavallaro |
